  • I have a Tesla Powerwall. Is it still possible to install a Bolt?

Yes, you can absolutely install a Bolt boiler even if you already have a Tesla Powerwall.

    Here's how it fits together:

    • Our Bolt battery is designed specifically to boost hot water performance
    • For central heating, Bolt will simply tap into your Tesla Powerwall instead of relying directly on the grid
    • This makes your overall setup even more efficient, especially if you're already charging your Tesla battery from solar or low-cost tariffs.
  • Will Bolt work with my Tado-X system?

Yes, Bolt can integrate with your Tado-X setup for zone control and scheduling.

  • I have a Mixergy tank for hot water. Will Bolt work with that?

Yes, Bolt will run alongside your existing Mixergy tank.

  • Will Bolt integrate with Hive?

Yes, the Bolt Argon operates using a volt-free contact for external control, meaning it can integrate with most smart thermostats like Hive via their heating control relays.

  • Can I use Home Assistant with Bolt?

For platforms like Home Assistant, Bolt can work through a relay-based connection (using a simple smart relay or switching device), allowing you to integrate it into your wider smart home automation system.

Technical Specifications

The performance and capabilities of your heating system matter, especially when making a significant upgrade. Bolt delivers impressive power output while maintaining efficiency through innovative design and engineering. This section provides detailed technical information about power consumption, system capacity, battery specifications, and solar integration limits to help you understand exactly what Bolt can deliver for your home.

  • How powerful is the Bolt system?

The Bolt Argon delivers 12kW for central heating and uses a patented heat exchanger for efficient hot water. It can draw up to 12kW at peak (when heating up from cold), with an average draw of 4–8kW once the system is running, depending on insulation and outdoor temperatures.

  • How much solar can I connect to Bolt?

With one Bolt battery, you can connect up to 4kW of solar PV directly into the system without needing an external inverter. This typically equates to about 10 solar panels, depending on their size and efficiency.
